Major Map Editor Update!

Excited to announce some big updates to the map editor, and a new way to get your maps featured as daily levels!

🆕 What's New

Map Editor - Rough Terrain

The long requested "rough" terrain has made its way to the map editor.

Map Editor - Ramps

You can now place ramps! Both ground ramps and ceiling ramps work. Note: there are a few quirks if you hit the corner of the ramps. Something I'm looking into, but they work pretty well overall.

🎨 Better Ramp Visuals

Fixed a bunch of visual bugs where ramps would look weird next to other tiles.

⚠️ Clearer Map Editor Errors

I now show red tiles in the editor if something is wrong with your map. This makes it easier to debug issues.

🚀 Submit Your Maps

This is the big one - you can now submit your maps to potentially become daily levels! Hit the publish button in the editor and I'll review it. If it's good, it might show up as a daily level for everyone to play.

I added this for a few reasons:

I want to have more diverse maps
I want to encourage more people to make maps
I want to see what creative stuff the community comes up with
I want Kinda Hard Golf to be a sustainable. Reality is, at some point I'm not going to be able to keep creating maps daily so this will hopefully help with my workload!

🎯 How to Get Started

Hit the editor button from the main menu
Mess around with the new rough and ramp tiles
Make something that's fun but not impossible
Hit publish if you want me to consider it for daily levels

📋 A Few Things

If you're submitting stuff, just keep in mind:

Make sure it's actually beatable (test it yourself first)
Don't make it impossible - challenging is good, unfair is not (for daily levels anyways! This could change in the future)
Try to be original!, (at least in some unique way)
Keep it appropriate - check the content guidelines
